DIVERSITY IMPACT ASSESSMENT

An Impact Assessment is a requirement of the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000, and is used to determine whether a policy (or proposed policy) affects different groups of people in different ways.

By undertaking an Impact Assessment of its Race Equality Schemes, organisations are able to ensure they not only meet the requirements of the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000, but can also ensure that the benefits of the organisational policies are realised, thereby enabling race equality to become a reality in the organisation.

The Training will focus on the following Key Areas

• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Race Equality Scheme.
• Understand the practical, personal, and organisational implications ofthe Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000.
• Understand the policy review process and its practical application in line with the Race Equality Scheme and Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000.
• Understand the impact and effect their policies may have on the wider community.
• Apply the impact assessment process to other strands of diversity
• Implement appropriate action plans to promote and sustain best practice in their day-to-day activity.
